Position Summary: The Controller will be responsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. This role is ideal for a hands-on financial leader with experience in the insurance industry or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and insurance industry regulations
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and tax professionals
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Implement and maintain internal controls and financial policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 5 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
