Occupational Therapist Assistant

• Occupational Therapist Assistants implement treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to carry out treatment plans tailored to each patient, with a focus on pediatric interventions like improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care tasks, while also addressing the needs of older clients with a variety of conditions.
  
• Lead therapy activities and exercises aimed at enhancing children's development in areas like play, social skills, school readiness, and self-regulation. For adult or geriatric clients, provide support with improving daily living skills and functional independence.
  
• Document patient progress, adjust treatment techniques as necessary, and collaborate with the supervising therapist to modify plans.
  

• Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program, typically a 2-year associate degree program.
  
• Pass the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam for OTAs to become a certified COTA.
  
• Maintain state licensures
  
• CPR certification
