Job Overview:
Are you passionate about serving the underserved and dream of managing programs that improve the lives of fellow citizens If you are ready to be a leading force in improving the oral health of citizens in Tennessee, we want you as the Regional Dental Director for West region. The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) Regional Dental Director is responsible for the oversight and support of regional oral health services and programs. This position plays a vital role in the Dental Leadership Team within TDH, working with six (6) other regional dental directors statewide
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other regional, metro, and state leadership to implement improvements in access to care.
- Provide leadership and support to all dental programs, assuring the provision of quality care and supporting clinical operational improvements.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders in evaluating, planning, and implementing initiatives.
- Manage data, reports, and contracts for various programs/initiatives.
- Manage regional dental staff to include assistants, hygienists, and clinical dentists.
- Plan, coordinate, deliver, and manage comprehensive oral health services for uninsured and underinsured adults and children as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- DDS or DMD degree
- Valid and unrestricted Tennessee dental license (or ability to obtain)
- Valid DEA license
- 5 years of clinical dentistry experience Supervisory or management experience
