The distribution center Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects related to the receiving, storing, and shipping of goods to and from the distribution center. The distribution center coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that, upon receipt, goods are properly stored in an orderly and safe manner to maintain product quality, employee safety, and future ease of access. You will need to design an efficient layout for storage and a process for storing and retrieving goods. You must quickly respond to new orders and ensure delivery of the proper items. Distribution center coordinators deal either directly with customers/and or with associated managers to address any mistakes made in the distribution process. This requires excellent customer service skills. A typical day for this position involves reviewing incoming shipments, monitoring warehouse activity, checking outgoing/incoming shipments. You will be expected to communicate with Managers/ Directors to give feedback about distribution concerns, product availability, and transit times.
Small Distribution Center Warehouse Supervisor Responsibilities
- Oversee the DC organization shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely access to materials and products.
- Analyze routing and transportation needs both within and external to the center to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage center staff scheduling, including ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
- Standardize receiving, sorting, quality control, and distribution of materials and products.
- Reviews incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Monitors warehouse, warehouse employees and associated activities; offers assistance to those with concerns or problems on the work floor.
- Ensures that products delivered are stored in an organized manner, so that its quality is maintained and accessibility is achieved.
- Creates a layout plan that streamlines the storage and retrieval of goods.
- Plans projects and sets objectives for the employees to meet.
- Responds to orders efficiently so that products are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinates with other managers/and/ or customers regarding discrepancies and errors in the supply chain process.
- Addresses logistical problems and furnishes solutions to these issues.
- Meets with other managers to confer about products, shipping times, and distribution issues, among many other concerns.
- Improves business by opening new contracts and enhancing systems.
- Creates new supply strategies.
- Loads and unloads trucks
Work Experience
Requires distribution center of at least 3 years of experience
Previous Warehouse experience

Technical Skills
In this very modern world, a distribution center coordinator should possess technical skills in order to hasten the warehouse logistics processes. Must be well-versed with supply chain, inventory management, material requirement and planning, and project management programs. D365 inventory computer experience is preferred.
