Come join us!/p pPosition Overview:/p pWe’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant School Cook at one of our partner schools in Chicago to support the daily preparation and service of our meals. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in the kitchen, takes pride in a clean and organized workspace, and wants to be part of a mission-driven food team. You'll assist the School Cook in a variety of tasks to ensure our meals are made and served efficiently, safely, and to our high standards. This will be a part-time role (approximately 20nbsp;hours per week).brbr/p pResponsibilities:/p ulliAssist with meal prep, cooking, and plating under the direction of the School Cook and Manager (Hot + Cold)/liliWash, chop, and prepare ingredients following recipes and portion guidelines/liliMaintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen tools, equipment, and workspace/liliSupport food service during mealtimes, ensuring speed and quality/liliFollow all food safety and sanitation procedures diligently/liliHelp with receiving and storing deliveries as needed/liliProvide general kitchen support wherever needed to keep service running smoothly/li/ul pbrQualifications:/p ulliExperience in food prep, line cook, kitchen work, or a related environment preferred/liliBasic understanding of kitchen safety and food handling practices/liliWillingness to learn, take direction, and work as part of a team/liliA positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting healthy food for kids/liliServSafe Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain within first 14 days of employment)/liliAbility to clear a pre-employment background check and earn additional certifications if required by the school/liliA smartphone for job-related communication/li/ul p/p pWhat We Offer:/p ulliA supportive and collaborative team environment/liliCompetitive hourly pay at $18/hour/liliA chance to grow culinary skills in a meaningful environment/liliPredictable part-time hours, ideal for work-life balance/li/ul
