Fun Fridays Assistant - Part-time

pspan style="font-size: 13px"Fun Fridays Assistants are expected to contribute to the Preschool’s overall mission by being committed to nurturing the whole child socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically, and spiritually (heart, mind, body, and soul.  Assistant Teachers will support the Teacher and help maintain a loving environment while assisting the Teacher as needed.  We believe God is not just a part of our lives, but actively involved in all aspects of our lives.  Prayer, Bible stories and activities will be integrated daily.  References to God’s love will also be made throughout the school day.  Christian staff will promote a warm caring atmosphere, full of active fun and creativity as children learn not only their ABC’s and 123’s but also how to help, care for, and respect others.  Fun Fridays Assistant's hours are Fridays from 8:30am-1:30pm./span/p pbr/p pspan style="font-weight: bold"span style="font-size: 13px"Qualifications/span/span/p ul lispan style="font-size: 13px"Be an active member of a Christian church (VCC membership will be given first consideration, assuming they are equally qualified)./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Must be a high school graduate, at least 18 years old, with experience working with younger children. /span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Pass a Background Check./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Consider themselves to be as a part of the total ministry of VCC./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Have a growing personal faith./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Have the ability to interact with young children individually or in a group situation./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Be certified or willing to be certified in CPR, AED and First Aid./span/li /ul pspan style="font-size: 13px" /span/p pspan style="font-weight: bold"span style="font-size: 13px"Responsibilities/span/span/p ul lispan style="font-size: 13px"Meet with the teacher before the school day to discuss the curriculum and activities of that day./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Greet parents and children and watch cars outside in the morning at drop-off on a rotating basis. /span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Assist teacher with greeting children and daily attendance./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Be aware and familiar with the daily schedule of the class./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Inform the teacher of any parent concerns or issues that arise and work with the teacher to resolve them./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Perform daily teaching activities as agreed with the teacher./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Assist with classroom discipline as set forth by the teacher./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Assist with restroom needs of the children as needed./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Help serve and clean up the daily snack and assist with lunch and clean up./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Assist with pick-up at the end of the day./span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Maintain a professional appearance. /span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Attend and be an active part of monthly staff meetings and other meetings. /span/li lispan style="font-size: 13px"Assist with clean-up before leaving for the day./span/li /ul pspan style="font-size: 13px" /span/p pspan style="font-weight: bold"span style="font-size: 13px"Working Conditions/span/span/p pspan style="font-size: 13px"Teaching preschool children is a very physical activity. Candidates must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, respond quickly to sounds, and move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
