Other duties necessary to deliver services to customers and citizens may be assigned./spanbrbrulliManages routine citizen and employee questions and complaints./liliPerforms effective and diplomatic communication with citizens and claimants./liliListens and gets clarification from citizens, employees and insurance services./liliSpeaks in a way that is clear and precise about what is required and clearly passes information on./liliExhibits common courtesy and basic communication skills to work within a team environment./liliMaintains confidentiality, for example, when dealing with Risk Management claims, lawsuits, medical information, background checks and DMV records./liliFocuses on solving conflict, not blaming when working with departments, employees and citizens./liliFollows through, resolves and seeks feedback regarding questions, requests and/or complaints in a timely manner./liliPrepares correspondence and other written materials for review, using appropriate grammar and spelling and a writing style necessary to effectively communicate to all customers./liliReads, interprets and applies policies, procedures, etc./liliMaintains accurate records using alpha and numeric filing skills- maintain database./liliDevelop and maintain various databases for Risk Management, such as Training, Claims Analysis and Accidents/liliProcess DMV requests and background checks/liliProvides or assists in training, facilitate meetings and/or makes presentations to small groups on an occasional basis./liliAnalyzes situations and uses judgment within complex established procedures, practices or past precedents./liliCoordinates small projects independently beyond individual job area such as, DMV annual checks for city drivers./liliDisplays original thinking and creativity in making complex decisions when responding to internal and external customers./liliPerforms analysis within established policies, precedents and/or procedures./liliDevelops innovative approaches and ideas./liliImproves processes, services, etc./liliSeeks increased responsibility/li/ulADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONSbrulliDepending on work assignment, may be required to perform a variety of duties in support of operational requirements and direct citizen service delivery such as acting as a back-up to other staff and response to weather-related and other emergencies, such as snow removal./liliMay be required to work outside of normal work hours, to report to work during inclement or unusual weather or other conditions or to respond in other abnormal situations./liliOther duties to provide direct or indirect service to the citizens may be assigned./liliWhen unusual situations occur and/or the City Manager declares a State of Emergency, all City employees may be required to accept special assignments and perform as needed to ensure appropriate service delivery.brbrnbsp;/li/ul/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2pQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
