This role will be responsible for preparing finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers. The Shipping Packer will make sure the shipments are prepared according to the type, size, and number of units to be packed, the type of container employed, and the method of shipment./ppbr//ppnbsp;This is a fully onsite position in Port Hueneme, CA. nbsp;/ppbr//ppstrongResponsibilities/strong/pulliSelect the appropriate type and size of the container, inserting enclosures in a container./liliUse excelsior or other material to prevent breakage or damage, closing and sealing container, and applying labels or entering identifying data on the container./liliPerform quality control assessments and stacking items safely and securely in the right packaging./liliEnsure that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping./liliManage all merchandise with appropriate care./li/ulpRequirements/ppbr//ppstrongRequired Experience and Skills/strong/pulliKnowledge of packing and shipping procedures/liliGood knowledge of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication/liliExcellent organizational skills/liliExcellent attention to detail/liliGood communication skills/liliAbility to work independently and safely/liliPrevious shipping and packing experience preferred/liliAbide by the Federal Drug-Free workplace policy./liliMust be able to pass government background check requirements as set by clients./liliMust be either a U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident with a minimum of 3 years of legal residency in the U.S./li/ulpbr//ppstrongEducation and Training/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or GED/li/ulpbr//ppstrongPhysical Requirements/strong/ppbr//ppTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
