About this job
The 1st Space Brigade requires the technical expertise and continuity provided by contractor support to carry out its mission supporting United States Space Command (USSPACECOM), United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) operations. Due to the high turnover rate of Brigade S3-assigned Soldiers and mandatory absences for training and certification, contractor support has become essential.
The type of support to be performed is typically carried out by officers and/or senior Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) within a brigade S3 section. This includes support across five mission areas: Operations, Training, Standardization, and Evaluations.
The contractor shall have relevant experience in:
- Space Support
- Space Control
- Space Control Planning
- Missile Defense Batteries
- Missile Defense Service Batteries
The contractor's technical expertise directly contributes to brigade-level preparation, readiness, and the successful execution of worldwide operational missions. Responsibilities include independently interpreting policy, analyzing complex operational or programmatic issues, conceptualizing requirements, and providing clear recommendations and guidance to leadership. Contractors are expected to perform with a high level of independence and technical expertise, interpreting operational guidelines with minimal supervision and aligning with the command’s broader policies and objectives.
