We are a profitable, well-established regional CPA firm seeking a Tax Senior to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve complex tax returns and assist in government tax examinations.
  • Manage and delegate tax preparation responsibilities, especially for larger and more complex business returns.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to clients and internal staff.
  • Ensure all client work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within budget.
  • Actively participate in client meetings and tax planning initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for tax and A&A staff on specific technical tax matters.
  • Maintain responsibility for assigned client relationships and service delivery.
  • Represent clients before appropriate taxing authorities when necessary.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate flow of tax returns through the preparation process.
  • Contribute to firm development activities, including involvement with community and industry organizations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Train, mentor, and develop junior staff including Supervising Seniors, Seniors, Semi-Seniors, and Staff Accountants.
  • Participate in staff evaluations and tax department reviews.
  • Assist in identifying training needs and delivering technical instruction to team members.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–7 years of current public accounting experience with increasing tax complexity and scope.
  • Experience with international tax consulting and compliance.
  • Familiarity with U.S. domestic and international tax compliance for high-net-worth individuals, pass-through entities, and corporations.
  • Knowledge of international tax topics including Subpart F, GILTI, PFIC, foreign tax credits, and income tax treaties.
  • At least 1 year of experience supervising and directing tax staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Taxation preferred).
  • Fluent in Japanese

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA license (or progress toward CPA certification).
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to manage multiple engagements.
  • Solid understanding of technical tax issues and planning strategies.
