Recreation Therapist – Pediatric Behavioral Health

Position Summary:
Join a dedicated team as a Recreation Therapist providing creative, therapeutic programs for individuals with developmental, mental health, or behavioral challenges. This contract role is ideal for someone passionate about healing through movement, music, art, or play.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation or related field

• Licensure: CTRS, or certified in Dance/Movement, Music, or Drama Therapy

• Experience: 1+ year in therapeutic recreation with special needs or behavioral populations

• Skills:

  • Program planning & activity modification

  • Documentation & treatment collaboration

  • Empathy, creativity, and interdisciplinary teamwork

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead recreational therapy sessions (sports, music, dance, art, etc.)

• Modify activities based on physical and cognitive ability

• Track individual progress and recommend care adjustments

• Collaborate with healthcare providers and support staff

• Maintain accurate records and follow safety policies
