Looking for Experienced Sewing Machine Operators - Single Needle

Job Summary:
Lloyd Mats by Covercraft is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sewing Machine Operator to join our team. This position involves operating a single-needle industrial sewing machine to stitch and bind heavy-duty automotive floor and cargo mats. The ideal candidate will be familiar with basic sewing machine operations and capable of making minor adjustments to support efficient, high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate industrial sewing machines (single needle) to stitch carpeted floor mats with precision.

• Read and follow patterns, work orders, and quality guidelines.

• Thread and rethread machines as needed during operation.

• Adjust folders, guides, and thread tension to maintain stitch quality.

• Conduct basic upkeep such as cleaning lint from the machine and oiling as required.

• Monitor machines for irregularities and report mechanical issues promptly.

• Inspect finished mats for quality and accuracy.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.

• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Experience operating sewing machines in a manufacturing setting is a plus.

• Working knowledge of machine operation, including threading, tension adjustments, and folder setup.

• Ability to perform light machine upkeep (cleaning, oiling) but not responsible for repairs.

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.

• Manual dexterity to operate machines and handle materials.

• Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

• Comfortable working in a moderately noisy production environment.
