Urban & Burt, LTD., an established southwest suburban Chicago law firm, located in Oak Forest, IL, committed to providing exceptional legal services is seeking a passionate and skilled Associate Attorney to join to join our firm. Our experienced team values integrity, professionalism, and client-focused solutions. Applicant must live within an easy commute to our office, as we regularly meet our clients in our office. The ideal candidate should have 1 – 25 years experience. Strong background in litigation and trial skills. You must be able to work independently and handle a full case load. The ability to develop, analyze, and negotiate cases at all stages are essential qualities for this candidate. A newly licensed attorney with strong ties to our community may also be considered.
This individual will handle cases primarily in Family Law, Divorce, and Personal Injury, providing comprehensive support to clients and collaborating with our team to achieve successful outcomes.
The breakdown of these areas are:
Family Law - Divorce Law - 80 %
Personal Injury & Litigation - 20 %
Ideal Candidate:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois
- Prior experience or strong interest in Family Law and Personal Injury
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
- Ability to work closely with clients and manage cases independently
- Local candidate preferred, ideally residing near our office for easy accessibility
Job Responsibilities:
Your job responsibilities in these fields will include:
– Primary point of communication for clients, witnesses, attorneys, insurance adjusters, medical providers, expert witnesses, and consultants;
– Review and supervise the preparation of pleadings, discovery, motions, court orders, demand packages, and other case-related documents;
– Review and supervise the preparation of discovery and financial affidavits in Divorce cases and other case-related documents;
– Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, depositions, mediation, and other case-related meetings;
– Maintain information in our computer management database;
– Experience with motions, contested hearings and trials is required.
Attorney’s who have a prior defense background will receive a strong consideration.
