How you make a difference

As a Medical Director, you will ensure adherence to security regulations, document medical services accurately, and coordinate coverage during absences, demonstrating your commitment to high-quality healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive medical care within a correctional facility, including patient examinations, infirmary visits, and documentation in EMR or approved forms.
  • Respond to emergencies, supervise healthcare staff, and consult with specialists to deliver high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator to improve patient outcomes through quality initiatives.
  • Review and approve treatment protocols, policies, and disaster plans.
  • Participate in clinical oversight and quality improvement committees to enhance patient safety.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Medical school graduate.

Experience:

  • Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current licensure within the State of employment.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • CPR certification.
  • Maintains privileges and CME requirements for medical practice in the state.
