Job Description
The Volunteer Manager works with older adults to find meaning and connection through volunteer experiences in the community and within LIFE Senior Services, Vintage Housing and PACE. This will include marketing the program, and the recruitment and placement of volunteers. The Volunteer Manager will work with non-profits in the community to place and retain their volunteer workforce. Additionally, this role will lead members of the Volunteer Department.
The successful candidate will be someone who genuinely enjoys meeting and collaborating with a broad variety personalities. The Volunteer Manager should be self-motivated, organized, and enjoy designing and implementing strategy to connect seniors and their communities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary.
- Implement the volunteer programs for LIFE Senior Services. Evaluate for continued relevance to a changing senior community.
- Serve as the spokesperson for the Volunteer Program, through engagements with community groups and media appearances.
- Oversee and manage the process for volunteer background checks.
- Administer the Give 5 Program in Tulsa and support program activities.
- Establish and report impact indicators for volunteer department.
- Recruit, interview, and help individual volunteers and organizations find best fits for their skill sets and needs.
- Oversee Holiday Project, Day of Caring and other seasonal projects; structure and delegate tasks to make the project successful.
- Work with Development and Marketing teams in promotion and communication of volunteer-related opportunities and events.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of HIPAA/HITECH laws and the related policies and procedures within the agency and depending on volunteer placement, fulfills HIPAA/HITECH requirements for volunteerism.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.
- Participate in special projects and performs additional duties as required or assigned.

- Demonstrated ability to manage people.
- Excellent team building, listening and problem-solving skills including ability to supervise and motivate individuals and groups.
- Ability to organize and present information clearly and with enthusiasm, one-on-one, in a group, in writing or formal presentation.
- Competent to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, to work as part of a team and to be self-motivated.
- Understanding of aging issues.
- Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet).
- Relationship management and customer service skills.
- Organized and methodical.
- Aptitude for representing LIFE Senior Services positively when interacting with volunteers and potential volunteers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A four-year Bachelor’s degree is preferred or but equivalent experience will be considered.
Preferred experience includes some management/direct-supervisory experience. Experience developing a major new project is desirable. Experience working with or working as a volunteer, preferred. Computer experience with Word, Excel, and online communication is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires constant hand grasp and finger dexterity; frequent sitting, standing, walking and repetitive leg and arm movements, occasional bending, reaching forward and overhead, squatting and kneeling. Ability to lift 30 pounds. Ability to communicate verbally with an excellent comprehension of the English language.

Oklahoma Driver's License and auto insurance.
