High Volume Entertainment Bar/Restaurant – Ferndale MI
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dining Room Manager to oversee the front-of-house operations at our high-volume entertainment bar and restaurant. This leadership role requires exceptional customer service skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee all dining room operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth service delivery
- Manage daily opening and closing procedures
- Monitor and maintain service quality standards throughout all dining areas
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery and quality control
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally
Staff Leadership & Development
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of servers, hosts, and support staff
- Create and maintain a positive, collaborative work culture
- Conduct staff meetings and training sessions
- Manage staff scheduling to optimize service coverage
Financial Management
- Monitor and control labor costs to meet budgetary targets
- Analyze daily sales reports and labor metrics
- Implement cost-control measures while maintaining service quality
- Assist with inventory management and ordering as needed
Customer Service Excellence
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences from arrival to departure
- Handle special requests and accommodations
- Maintain awareness of all menu items, specials, and entertainment offerings
- Address guest feedback and implement service improvements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in high-volume establishments
- Proven track record in customer service excellence
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Experience with labor cost management and P&L responsibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in entertainment venue or bar/restaurant combination
- Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant management software
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain
- TIPS Trained or willingness to be trained.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time position: 50 hours per week
- Evening and weekend availability required
