Amada Laser Operator

 The Amada Laser Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Amada CNC laser cutting machines to produce precision sheet metal components. This role requires an understanding of laser cutting technology, the ability to read blueprints and CAD drawings, and attention to detail to ensure quality and efficiency in production.

Key Responsibilities: • Set up and operate Amada laser cutting machine to produce metal parts according to engineering specifications. • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and CAD files to determine machine settings and cutting paths. • Load and unload metal sheets onto the machine table using cranes, hoists, or manually. • Monitor laser cutting operations to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional standards. • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on laser equipment to maintain peak performance. • Inspect cut parts using precision measurement tools and document quality control checks. • Identify and troubleshoot issues with laser performance, material handling, or cut quality. • Ensure safe operation and compliance with company safety procedures, including use of PPE. Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Strong attention to detail and quality standards. • Familiarity with metal types, thicknesses, and cutting parameters. • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications: • Certification or training in laser operations or CNC machining. • Experience operating Amada or similar CNC laser cutting machines. • Basic understanding of G-code and machine programming (preferred). • Experience using CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Amada Dr. ABE). • Forklift certification and experience in a fabrication shop environment.
