We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in automotive quality standards, be hands-on with process control and root cause analysis, and contribute to cross-functional efforts to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of IATF 16949 quality management system requirements across manufacturing operations
- Lead or support PPAP submissions, ensuring compliance with customer and OEM requirements
- Perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and implement effective corrective actions
- Work cross-functionally to support APQP activities and ensure product quality throughout the development and production life cycle
- Utilize FMEA and control plans to proactively identify and mitigate risks in the production process
- Conduct audits and assessments of internal processes and suppliers for compliance to QMS and customer standards
- Interpret technical drawings using GD&T principles to verify conformance of parts and processes
- Monitor and analyze production and quality data to maintain process stability and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support customer communication and resolution of quality-related issues
- Contribute to documentation, training, and process updates related to quality procedures
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
- 35+ years of experience in quality engineering, ideally within Tier 1 automotive manufacturing
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, GD&T, and statistical process control
- Experience with plastics or coatings in an automotive or manufacturing setting is a plus
- Familiarity with QMS software and systems
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with a proactive, team-oriented mindset
