We are seeking a Buyer | Planner for industrial cutting technology to join our team of talented people and help continue our tradition of innovation and market leadership. This position is located at our facility in Fountain Inn, SC. Come and grow with us!  

This is currently a hybrid position, our company may consider remote in the near future.

Salary Range for this role is $72,500-$90,000.

The Buyer | Planner is responsible for planning and procuring raw materials and finished goods for knife manufacturing in primary wood processing. This role ensures timely product delivery, optimal inventory levels, and alignment with global production and planning standards.

How You Will Make a Positive Impact:

  • Closing the loop on the interplay between capacity, raw material requirements and finished knife purchase in a strong make-versus-buy environment
  • Conduct weekly inventory and capacity reviews for manufacturing site
  • Monitor and report delivery performance and lead times
  • Maintain target inventory levels based on demand patterns and vendor lead times
  • Procure raw materials and finished goods, including international sourcing
  • Manage supplier relationships and support negotiations and onboarding
  • Maintain purchase orders, pricing, lead times, and acknowledgements
  • Support supply continuity through demand forecasting and supplier communication
  • Manage item master records and vendor pricing agreements
  • Eliminate duplicate item entries and maintain data accuracy for internal users
  • Anticipate supply challenges and takes preemptive action
  • Develop solutions to complex issues
  • Manage returns, replacements, and credit arrangements with vendors

The Value You Bring:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain management, management, finance, marketing, or manufacturing is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a Purchasing, Planning/Scheduling, Warehouse/Distribution/Transportation coordination or Customer Service roles
  • Excellent communication skills with internal teams and remote manufacturing sites
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with ability to achieve mutually beneficial agreements with suppliers
  • Highly proactive, responsible, and solution-focused
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Proven ability to manage complex issues with critical thinking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Excel, SharePoint and Teams
  • Ability to travel up to 5%.
