General Duties (includes but not limited to):
- Collaborate with cross-functional teamsincluding engineering, design, manufacturing, and qualityto support tooling development, process improvements, and project success.
- Coordinate and execute mold/tool trials, validation tests, and process adjustments to ensure optimal performance, dimensional accuracy, and part quality.
- Inspect molds for wear, damage, or corrosion, and coordinate repairs or refurbishments with internal teams or external vendors.
- Troubleshoot molding defects and dimensional issues by identifying root causes and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
- Use precision measurement tools (e.g., vision systems, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensional accuracy and meet specification requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and structured problem-solving events such as 8D reports and communication meetings.
- Maintain inventory of replacement parts and develop improvements for mold/tool protection and in-process data collection.
- Engage in continuous improvement, training, and professional development to stay current with injection molding technologies and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and quality standards, while promoting cleanliness, organization, and workplace safety.
- Assist in training personnel on proper mold/tool care, use, and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate records for mold/tool specifications, maintenance activities, process parameters, and non-conformance investigations.
- Review and approve tooling drawings, prototypes, and samples to ensure compliance with quality and manufacturing standards.
- Monitor molding processes and analyze data to optimize cycle times, yields, and part consistency.
- Perform and document preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molds, both in and out of cleanroom environments.
- Lead or assist in new mold/tool startups, validations, engineering change orders, and troubleshooting activities, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Physical Requirements:
- Is expected to sit, walk, or stand for 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to communicate verbally, be able to hear, and have clear and corrected vision for tasks that involve reading, writing, and working with small details.
- Have physical agility for tasks that involve bending, kneeling, or reaching.
- Have precise hand-eye coordination for tasks that involve handling small objects, tools, or machinery.
- Must be able to lift and/or move 30-80 lbs.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to industrial materials.
- Capability to push/pull pallets weighing 1,500-2,300 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Performs work under minimal supervision and proven track record of working with injection molding processes, including familiarity with mold design, tooling materials, and manufacturing techniques specific to medical devices.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring with injection molds.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with injection molds and tooling preferred.
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Machining, Tool & Die Making, or related field preferred.
Certifications (preferred):
- Forklift
- Completion of an accredited Tool & Die Apprenticeship Program

- Knowledgeable in injection molding principles, including hot runner and valve gate systems, and identifying molded part defects.
- Experienced with multi-cavity mold base design, mold assembly/disassembly, and mold/tool maintenance using CMMS.
- Adept at using Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 and performing basic mathematical functions relevant to technical roles.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and research skills applied in project management (new builds, repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives).

Effective 6 Months After Hire Date:
- Profit Share Program- Eligible to participate the month following 6 full months of employment.
