Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work./p pstronguJob Overview/u/strong/p pThe Carpenter / Painter maintains building interior walls, flooring, ceilings, entry doors, fitting room hardware, fixture drawers, and hinges. This role performs journey-level painting, finishing, and maintenance on a variety of interior and exterior surfaces, structures, and fixtures. The Carpenter / Painter works across multiple facilities as needed./p pstronguWhat You Will Do/u/strong/p p style="margin-left:0.25in;"strongCarpenter Essential Functions:/strong/p ul liInstall, maintain, and repair walls, flooring, ceilings, fixtures, doors, hardware, and laminate./li liPerform repairs and preventive maintenance on building interiors as needed./li liRegularly use power tools and lift heavy or bulky items./li liUtilize the Work Order System to manage repair requests and preventive maintenance tasks./li liEnsure all systems comply with local codes./li liMaintain a valid driver’s license./li liTravel intermittently between store locations and out of town as needed./li liWork safely around customers and employees./li liRead and interpret blueprints and specifications./li liWork independently without daily direct supervision./li liComplete tasks efficiently as directed by the People Leader./li liMaintain dependable attendance and punctuality./li liFollow established safety guidelines and work standards./li liAssist with all aspects of maintenance and repair within assigned facilities, including on-call availability./li /ul p style="margin-left:0.25in;"strongPainter Essential Functions:/strong/p ul liPrepare, prime, sand, seal, patch, and paint interior and exterior surfaces, furniture, and fixtures using various painting materials, including varnish, lacquer, and latex. Adjust colors as needed./li liApply tape and joint compound to repair sheetrock walls and ceilings./li liRemove graffiti using appropriate products./li liInstall and repair wall coverings./li liOperate, clean, and maintain painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and pumps./li liPurchase and inventory equipment and supplies./li liEstimate time and materials required for projects./li liErect scaffolding and use ladders safely in compliance with safety codes./li liStore and label materials safely./li liAdhere to state and local disposal requirements for hazardous materials./li liRespond to routine and emergency service calls, documenting completed work in the work order system./li liComplete tasks efficiently as directed by the People Leader./li liMaintain dependable attendance and punctuality./li liIn addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned./li liFoster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities./li /ul pstronguSkills You Will Need/u/strong/p ul listrongTechnical Proficiency:/strong Strong knowledge of carpentry, painting, finishing, and general maintenance./li listrongTool amp; Equipment Handling:/strong Proficiency in using power tools and handling materials safely./li listrongProblem-Solving amp; Adaptability:/strong Ability to assess and troubleshoot maintenance issues efficiently./li listrongResourcefulness:/strong Capacity to work within the constraints of the facilities budget while meeting store maintenance needs./li listrongSafety amp; Compliance:/strong Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations./li listrongHazardous Material Handling:/strong Ability to safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials./li listrongProject amp; Time Management/strong: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects across different locations./li listrongTask Prioritization:/strong Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and business needs./li listrongWork Order System Utilization/strong: Effective use of work order systems for tracking maintenance and repairs./li listrongCommunication amp; Collaboration:/strong Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with store management, employees, and team members./li listrongReporting amp; Documentation:/strong Ability to provide clear updates on maintenance tasks, issues, and resolutions./li /ul pstronguWho You Are/u/strong/p ul liCandidates with a High School diploma or equivalent are encouraged to apply. 5+ years of direct experience.nbsp;/li liThis position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves remaining in a stationary position for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 50 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment./li liAble to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on department and company needs.
