Uses an appropriate problem-solving approach to plan servicesbr /a. Answers phones, routes calls and or takes accurate message. Manages the scheduling of patient appointments. Identifies barriers to communications and/or learning and place in Sticky Note (blue).br /d. Verifies insurance eligibility, scans insurance card, and photo ID.br /e. Checks patients in and or out for visit in appropriate manner. Accurate and appropriatebr /use of ICD-10 and CPT codesbr /f. Accurately and accordingly to policy, posts paymentsbr /g. Reconciles all financial data correctly and in compliance with clinic policy, both end ofbr /day and end of monthbr /h. Forward requests for Medical Records to Release of Information Department.br /i. Works with patient and clinic manager to effectively manage patient accounts andbr /performs certain financial assistance tasks as delegated and monitored by the clinicbr /manager.br /j. Recognizes how fraud and abuse interplay into daily role.br /k. Assists as needed with any medications pre-authorization and or appeals in timely andbr /appropriate manner.br /l. Any other duty as assigned but within the scope of practice for a MOA by the clinicbr /manager and or provider.br /2. Provides services with consideration of the recipient’s needs.br /a. Maintains work area in neat organized manner.br /b. Secures patient information in desk drawers or folders;br /c. Secures all receipts, cash drawer, etc. under lock and key overnight and when a\way frombr /work area. Locks computer system as needed when away from work desk to protest PHI forbr /patientsbr /d. Greets and direct patients and visitors in a com1eous manner, informing them of delaysbr /or changes in patient flowbr /e. Monitors the reception area to ensure patient comfort and prompt response to patientbr /distress or concernsbr /f. Wears FH name badge and introduces self to patient as needed and required by the situation.br /3. Uses equipment/supplies correctlybr /a. Maintains equipment in proper working order. Follow manufacturers' manuals for carebr /of office equipment. Notify manager of equipment failure.br /b. Maintains adequate supply of materials and forms. Use supplies conservativelybr /c. Keeps a neat orderly and safe work area.br /4. Uses appropriate safety and infection control measuresbr /a. Adheres to established infection control measures.br /b. Assures patient safety by following applicable patient safety goals./pp style="margin: 0px;" /pp style="margin: 0px;" /pp style="margin: 0px;"5. Teaches/directs/advises/informs others in an appropriate manner.br /a. Communicates clearly with providers, manager and co-workers and patients.br /b. Educates and inform patients about clinic policies, procedures and processes using basicbr /simple language and principles of adult learning.br /c. Involves clinic manager in all patient concerns/complaints in a timely fashion after firstbr /trying to diffuse the situation.br /d. Accurately collects co-pays and deductibles teaching patient necessary informationbr /about their insurance policy as needed and directed by the situation.br /e. Advises patients in need of insurance pre-certifications or authorization for clinic visitsbr /(i.e., managed care and VA.)br /f. Knowledge of managed care plans.br /3br /6. Reports/records information appropriately.br /a. Uses approved format for recording and repo1iing messages. i.e. telephone encounter,br /etc.br /b. Maintains written reports of all situations requiring manager's attentionbr /c. Reconciles cash receipts and rep01is as instructed by policy when MOA must leave moneybr /drawer for an extended periodbr /d. Utilizes the EHR/EMR system if in place to facilitate role as it related to referrals,br /follow-up patient instructions or other activities required in a clinic setting to augmentbr /quality for patient care and coordination.br /Compliance to competencies are evaluated by Outstanding, Successfully, and Needs Improvement. It is thebr /judgement of the clinic manager and supported by objective documentation under comments when eitherbr /Outstanding or Needs Improvement are given to any of these competencies./pp style="margin: 0px;" /p Qualifications: p style="margin: 0px;"Qualifications:br /The following, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions ofbr /the position.br /Education/formal training/licensure/certifications/experience:br /Current BLSbr /Prefer at least one year of clinical experience in Convenient Care, Urgent Care, Occupational Health, orbr /Family Medicine.br /br /br //p
