pWe are currently seeking a strongStudent Accounts Specialist/strong to join our team. The Student Account Specialist is assigned to the day to day technical duties in addition to awarding Title IV aid. Positions assigned to this classification are a paraprofessional and will have a high technical knowledge of financial aid programs and procedures to independently assist campuses and other professionals over the phone, and through written and electronic correspondence. The position requires the ability to work with a sense of urgency, analyze financial aid application data, exercise professional judgment in reviewing financial aid applications, verification, awarding Title IV aid and tracking and processing Return to Title IV calculations for students. In addition, the position requires that all application and verification work be done accurately and compliantly./p
pustrongPrimary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities/strong/u/p

liComplies with all Federal, State, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures./li
liAchieves compliance as established by accrediting agencies, state entities and current established company targets./li
liReviews, evaluates and audits applications for federal financial aid for quality control purposes./li
liAssist in the intake and scanning of confidential data for state and federal reports, including student and parent confidential tax and income information./li
liValidates student financial aid application data to calculate award eligibility and certify federal and private student loans./li
liMaintains knowledge of Title IV awarding and cash management rules and regulations./li
liPrepares the R2T4 calculations for all withdrawn students./li
liAchieves a consistent accuracy in R2T4 calculations./li
liMaintains and coordinates award and quality assurance reports./li
liMaintain the company’s administrative requirements for student financial aid and separation of duties compliance requirements for state and federal student financial aid./li
liMaintains knowledge of the College’s refund policies./li
liEnsures ethical and accurate documentation and recordkeeping which meets all company and regulatory agency standards./li
liPrepares statistical and tracking reports as requested by IEC management./li
liProvides and training and support as requested in all areas relating to Tile IV awarding and disbursement./li
liMonitor the work of others and assist with training teams on file review, awarding and certifying federal loans./li
liAbility to post Title IV funds to account ledger and cash disbursement rosters./li
liProvide exceptional customer service and respond to inquiries from the campuses./li
liMust possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive in the United States./li
liOther duties as assigned./li

liAt least three years of experience serving as a financial aid specialist, compliance auditor, associate director of financial aid or comparable position./li
liPreference will be given to individuals who have previous experience working as a Financial Aid Specialist, Default Prevention Specialist or Financial Planning Analyst./li
liBachelor’s degree with coursework in business, finance, auditing or accounting./li
liExcellent customer service, oral and written communication and presentation skills./li
liAbility to work effectively as a member of a team./li
liEfficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel is required/li
liEnglish will be the primary language used; bilingual abilities useful but not required./li
liAbility to meet deadlines and execute multiple priorities./li
