pDescription/ppCSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a Wellness Mentor. Under the direction of the Wellness Center Manager, the Wellness Mentor acts as a leader and role model for members, visitors, and community members. The Mentor understands the center’s mission as well as basic principles of wellness, recovery and peer support. This position works directly with the Center Manager and in collaboration with the members to plan, implement, and maintain Wellness Center operations./ppbr//ppstrongHIGHLIGHTS/strong/pulliWork with the manager to support the Agency mission by meeting and identifying needs of the local community and make connections with other relevant organizations and agencies./liliMaintain an up-to-date knowledge of community resources and agencies to ensure members have access to robust support such as referrals to substance use recovery agencies, food banks, financial support agencies, and more./liliCollaborate with manager and members to plan and conduct all aspects of day-to-day operations of the center./liliOffer information and referral to members regarding wellness and recovery, peer support and community services./li/ulpbr//ppstrongPart-time | 20 hours per week | NJESL Eligible/strong/ppbr//ppstrongHourly Rate: $17.50 - candidates without a Peer Certificate or $19.23 - candidates with a Peer Certificate or related BA/strong/ppbr//ppstrong*MUST obtain certification within a year*/strong/ppbr//ppbr//ppRequirements/pulliHigh School diploma / GED./liliExcellent organizational and time management skills./liliExceptional interpersonal skills./liliGood verbal and written communication./liliKnowledge of wellness, the mental health system and community resources./liliAbility to make and maintain contacts and positive relationships with individuals who receive or have received mental health and/or substance abuse services./liliWillingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly on aspects of their individual recovery./liliAbility to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner./liliBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office)/liliBilingual skills are preferred/ a plus./liliValid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record./liliLived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others./li/ul
