CHEESE SHOP/MURRAY'S CHEESE MASTER - Part-time

pResponsible for creating a unique customer cheese experience that will embody the food passion, cheese knowledge, interactive customer service, team leadership and industry leading merchandising that is uniquely Murray’s Cheese. Work closely with Deli Merchandising and District Staff, as well as the direct reports to create an environment of outgoing, personal, theatrical cheese retailing within the store environment. Role model proactive selling and superior product knowledge to drive sales in a targeted manner.nbsp;Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety./ph3Responsibilities/h3divul liCreate and maintain the Murray’s Cheese experience: interactive customer service, ongoing product education,, effective cross-selling, merchandising, pushing and promoting designated products./li liMaintain knowledgeable, efficient, friendly staff fully trained in Murray’s operations and products./li liEnsure all Kroger and Murray’s policies, operating standards, and procedures are communicated effectively, maintained, and followed at all times./li liEnsure that staff adheres to all Food Safety, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, and Sanitation Procedures./li liPlace orders and maintain inventory./li liResponsible for setting up weekly in store selling events./li liContribute to store goals for increasing sales and improving profit./li liEffectively control shrink and waste by following Murray’s and Kroger’s Best Practices./li liControl labor expenses through appropriate scheduling./li liMeet and/or exceed budgetary goals for the Murray’s Cheese Shop./li liSupervise and coach direct reports on the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports./li liMust be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation./li /ul/divh3Qualifications/h3divpMinimumnbsp;/p ul liManagement experience or Food Retail experience or two year Culinary Degree/li liWilling to taste cheese daily./li liSupportive of cheese business initiatives./li liAble to inspire, motivate and train staff while ensuring successful completion of all tasks./li liExcellent communication skills./li liAbility to multi-task./li liProficient with Microsoft Excel and Word./li liStrong desire to learn, enthusiasm for the product, and an interest and willingness to try new and innovative approaches./li /ul pnbsp;/p pstrongDesired/strong/p ul liPast work record reflects dependability and integrity.nbsp;/li liPrior food handling./li liSupervisory skills./li /ul/divh2Company/h2divdiv Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Smith’s Food and Drug merged with The Kroger Company in 1998.
