This includes processing donations, sorting, pricing, tagging, selecting and shelving, operating the cash register and other responsibilities as assigned. The Sales Associate will be responsible to keep the thrift store organized and clean at all times./span/span/pp style="margin: 0px;" /pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"strongDescription of Position:  /strong/span/pp style="margin-left: .5in;"span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"Is responsible for preparing merchandise for sale by pricing and tagging items and clothes according to pricing guideline, ensure that all production is taken from the donation center/sorting area and are properly displayed on the sale floor, enforce pricing policies (one price/no haggle) , understand and comply with federal and state laws regarding the sale of used items including IRS tax regulations and dept. of Laber bedding and upholstery restrictions, utilize the internet and social media to advertise the store and promote the highest value and highly demanded items as directed by store manager, assist with purging items from the store floor to ensure a continuous flow of new inventory, assist the Store Manager in creating an attractive shopping environment, which includes neatly stacking, shelving, and hanging clothing garments and other donated goods, ensure the thrift store is always organized and clean, which includes sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, dusting shelves, washing windows, etc., provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints, operate Cash Register, verily and sign donation receipts for items brought into the donation center, performs related duties as assigned/span/pp style="margin-left: 0in;"span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"em /em/span/pp style="margin-left: 0in;"span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"emThe above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the candidate will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post./em/span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: 12pt;"    /span/span/p Qualifications: p style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"strongRequirements:   /strong/span/pullispan style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"strong /strong/spanspan style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"Prior successful work experience in a retail setting/span/lilispan style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"Ability to handle a cash register and teach others how to use one, which includes void transactions, discounts, tax exempt sales, etc./span/lilispan style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"Excellent math/accounting skills and familiarity working with cash receipts/span/lilispan style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"Must keep information in a confidential and secure manner/span/lilispan style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"Must be self-motivated who can work in a constantly changing environment/span/lilispan style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"Must be able to adhere to project and work deadlines/span/lilispan style="color: black; font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 12pt;"Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
