To keep all products and displays fully stocked, attractive and cleaned. Help maintain coffee amp; tea bar, keep café seating area clean, and perform proper opening and closing procedures as outlined by the store manager and Manager On Duty. We seek out, welcome and celebrate people with diverse identities to participate in our community-owned cooperative business structure./ppstrongStatus:/strong Level I, General Staff, Supervised by Collegetown Store Manager/ppbr//ppustrongResponsibilities:/strong/u/ppCASHIERING amp; CUSTOMER SERVICE/pulliCheck out customer purchases quickly and accurately, using correct prices and department codes./liliCall for back-up as needed to minimize customers’ wait times for checkout./liliHandle all customer needs and complaints in a courteous, respectful, and efficient manner./liliBecome familiar with co-op policies in order to answer customer questions. Refer unresolved questions or problems to Manager On Duty or Store Manager.nbsp;/liliUnderstand member discount program and inform shoppers about Membership options./liliHandle EBT, CitiBucks and coupons accurately./liliAssist customers while placing and picking up special orders./liliAnswer phone calls in a timely fashion and handle messages if necessary./liliKeep busy during slow periods by performing tasks on stocking and cleaning checklist or as directed by Manager on Duty or Store Manager./liliRe-stock self-service items (paper napkins, utensils, etc.) in café.nbsp;/liliMaintain coffee amp; tea bar./liliWork with a sense of urgency and purpose./li/ulpPREPARED FOODS HANDLING amp; STOCKING/pulliFollow proper procedures for receiving, handling, and storing prepared foods/liliEnsure freshness of prepared food items by rotating product, spot checking for quality, and checking sell by dates/li/ulpGROCERY amp; PERISHABLE STOCKING/pulliFollow and maintain daily operations according to established protocols and checklists.nbsp;/liliStock shelves and displays fully without overcrowding amp; rotate stock./liliEnsure items on shelves and displays are labeled accurately and clearly with price tags and sale signs./liliNotify buyer of out-of-stocks./liliPull short-date or low-quality items and notify Manager on Duty./liliMaintain cleanliness of Collegetown Store./li/ulpPRODUCE STOCKING/pulliPiece check every delivery against the invoice for quality and accuracy.nbsp;/liliPull any wilted or rotting produce and keep baskets and displays cleaned and wiped down./liliKeep back stock separated by organic and conventional. Make sure all boxes are rotated and visible./liliMake sure displays and cases are full at all times./liliNotify Store Manager or Manager on Duty of any mispicks, shortages or out of stocks./liliMake sure all signs have proper price, country of origin and item listed./li/ulpRECEIVING AND MAINTENANCE/pulliCheck deliveries to verify piece count, notify purchaser of discrepancies./liliCheck for damage and unacceptable quality, notify purchaser of problems./liliOrganize overstock into storage./liliKeep shelves, coolers and backstock area in a clean and orderly condition./liliKeep department equipment in assigned areas and in working order./liliAdvise Collegetown Store Manager of equipment problems./liliParticipate in periodic inventory./liliHelp with unloading as needed./liliRoute invoices to buyer./liliMaintain sales floor and backstock as outlined in training and protocols.nbsp;/li/ulpDEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE/pulliSee that unsaleable items are pulled off the shelf.
