Individuals in this position may perform work independently through assignments and demonstrate efficient use of time by following written and verbal direction including other means to achieve department goals. The custodian must have attention to detail, a passion for cleaning and the ability to maintain a positive rapport with customers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:/span/pullispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Carpet vacuuming/edging/span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Dusting all surfaces/span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Dust mopping, wet mopping, sweeping/span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Remove litter/span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Cleaning glass – Doors and windows/span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Wash walls, doorframes, window ledges./span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms./span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Clean break areas and kitchens. · Refill dispensers, carts, shelves with needed supplies./span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;" Remove waste and cleans containers. Transport to central location. /span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;" Dust blinds. /span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;" Operate all cleaning and floor care equipment, buffers, wet vacuums, auto scrubbers, upright vacuums, and carpet extractors. /span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Report broken and damaged items and building maintenance needs to supervisor./span/li/ulp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"strongLitter Patrol/strong/span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Provide an exterior environment free of trash and debris. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:/span/pullispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Patrolling for and removal of litter from grounds, exterior stairwells, entrances, and patios./span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Removal of waste from exterior trash cans and transport to central location./span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Cleaning of exterior trash cans and reporting disrepair./span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Placement and servicing of additional trash cans for events./span/li/ulp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"strongRecycling:/strong/span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Provide recycling services to OHSU community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:/span/pullispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Placement and collection of recycling containers throughout interior and exterior of buildings./span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Accurately and safely sort recyclables into appropriate containers. Maintain cleanliness of sorting area./span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Safely shred and bale recycled items./span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Following HIPPA regulations./span/li/ulp style="margin: 0px;"strongspan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Other Duties as Assigned/span/strong/p Required Qualifications: ullispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Related job experience demonstrating work ethic and team work/span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"General cleaning knowledge. /span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Basic computer skills: Ability to run a computer, navigate the OS interface and use Microsoft Outlook. /span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;" Working knowledge of and ability to speak, understand, read and write basic English/span/li/ul Preferred Qualifications: ullispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"High School or GED Equivalent/span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"1-2 year custodial experience/span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Commercial cleaning background. /span/lilispan style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;" Knowledge and experience of floor care practices/span/li/ul Additional Details: p style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Shifts may vary. Day shift hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Swing shift hours are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Off/span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Campus building work hours are 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM./span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Assignments are primarily outdoors, but also involve some indoor work./span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Must demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with customers and team members./span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Working locations will be on Marquam Hill or at select off campus sites and include hospital, clinic,/span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"academic and research facilities./span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"Assignments primarily involve the pickup of litter and emptying trash in exterior spaces, but can also involve/span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"the cleaning of laboratory spaces, restrooms, classrooms, kitchens, cafeterias/break rooms, hallways,/span/pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;"warehouse spaces, lobbies and other similar spaces.
