Participates in community outreach and conducts presentations on a variety of Athletic Training Topics. Oversees Student Athletic Trainers and/or Intern Athletic Trainers and mentors new staff members. Provides athletic training services at sporting events and community events.p style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/ppspan class="emphasis"bbuEssential Functions/u/b/b/span/pullipAll team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health#39;s values:  Inspire health.  Serve with compassion.  Be the difference./p/lilipInteraction and management of patient visit within clinic for physician./p/lilipInteracts regularly with patients and others involved in the patient/athlete#39;s care to incorporate an interdisciplinary treatment approach for coordinated quality care./p/lilipObtains initial patient history, vital signs, and/or follow up status and presents to physician in preparation for their exam of patient/athlete./p/lilipRequest and organization of ancillary studies (X-rays, MRI, CT scans, lab work, etc.) and presentation for for review./p/lilipOrganization and disbursement of patient lab work or other office tests as directed./p/lilipPatient instruction upon discharge for physical therapy, further studies, follow up appointments and direction for patients as they leave the clinic./p/lilipTeaches, counsels and communicates with patients, athletes, their families, coaches and others to achieve the desired outcomes./p/lilipInteracts with patients, athletes, coaches, families and colleagues to enlist cooperation in establishing programs to ensure the safe return to play of athlete or activity of the patient./p/lilipSupports and provides educational material to athletes, coaches, parents, community at large on injury management and prevention./p/lilipParticipates in follow-up care once the patient/athlete is ready to return to play or their desired activity./p/lilipProvides information regarding follow-up services which may include a referral to other Prisma Health/community resources (such as an MD)./p/lilipComplies with departmental policies for documentation./p/lilipResponsible for taking office notes as directed./p/lilipResponsible for organization and disbursement of incoming medical records, reports, etc. as they arrive at the clinic./p/lilipReport of patients/athletes sent to MD, follow-up services ordered and where the service was performed, MRI, etc./p/lilipWorks at community events. Coordinates and presents at local/ state/regional level on Athletic Training Topics. Supports and provides educational material to athletes, coaches, parents, community at large on injury management and spanspanprevention. Coordinates/arranges/span/span sessions with local EMT/Emergency Services for coordination of care for injured spanspanathlete. Coordinates/span/span with other school personnel and parents /guardians to get HIPPA Consent and Consent to Treat signed and back in a timely manner. Calls MD, medical assistants, parents, coaches, Coordinator of Sports Medicine, Radiology, etc. to ensure ambulatory services are performed through Prisma Health as much as possible./p/lilipProvides oversight and delegates tasks to Student Athletic Trainers and/or Intern Athletic Trainer. Mentor new staff members and serve as a consultant for new staff, as needed./p/lilipResponsible for basic daily and weekly maintenance, general cleanliness, and upkeep of stock in rooms. Responsible for preparation of exam rooms for patient visits spanspanand emptying and/span/span disposal spanspanof biohazard waste/span/span and spanspansharps containers as/span/span directed.
