This role will manage 1–2 fabric categories and be responsible for fabric development, fabric testing and compliance, approvals, and coordination with global partners. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of fabric development fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to working in a cost-sensitive, fast-paced environment./ppbr//ppstrongResponsibilities/strong nbsp;/ppemLeadership amp; Coordination/em/pulliAssist in managing fabric development timelines and communication across global sourcing regions—including China, India, and Bangladesh—while continuously exploring new sourcing opportunities./liliCollaborate with cross-functional teams and global partners to align development strategy with design, margin goals, and calendar milestones./li/ulpemStrategic Fabric Development/em/pulliOwn end-to-end development of 1–2 fabric categories, supporting all development, testing, and compliance specific to Walmart requirements./liliActively participate in Mill Weeks (4x/year) by curating fabric assortments that balance trend-forward options with core fabrics optimized for cost./liliSource and recommend fabric alternatives that support both creative direction and business needs, with a focus on cost efficiency./liliPartner with overseas mills and suppliers on fabric and yarn development, ensuring clarity of requests and alignment on timelines./li/ulpnbsp;nbsp;emApproval amp; Prioritization/em/pulliiManage daily fabric development workflows, including status updates, test tracking, and timely follow-through on approvals./liliProactively flag bulk fabric feasibility concerns and escalate to manager with suggested next steps or solutions./li/ulpemSeasonal amp; Mill Week Support/em/pulliCoordinate Mill Week submissions and assist in preparing fabric presentations for the design team./liliCollaborate with suppliers and design to ensure a robust offering of innovation, seasonal relevance, and price-appropriate options./li/ulpemSupplier amp; Fabric Engagement/em/pulliSupport global sourcing efforts by identifying mills and fabrics that align with both aesthetic and commercial goals./liliEvaluate fabric qualities for performance, hand feel, cost, and production feasibility./liliMaintain clear and timely communication with overseas counterparts and mill partners./li/ulpemCommunication amp; Team Support/em/pulliMaintain consistent, professional communication across Teams, email, and PLM./liliKeep fabric development documentation accurate and up to date for team visibility./li/ulpemQuality Assurance/em/pulliSupport quality control by reviewing test reports and addressing any issues during development, with a focus on Walmart testing protocols and compliance standards./liliPartner with the development team to manage re-approvals or relaunches when necessary./li/ulpemPresentation amp; Reporting/em/pulliPrepare clear and concise PowerPoint presentations to communicate seasonal sourcing updates and fabric strategies to design and merchandising./liliHelp summarize development progress, pricing insights, and fabric status for internal meetings and recaps.nbsp;/li/ulpRequirements/pulliBachelor’s Degree in Textiles, Fashion, or a related field/lili1–3 years of experience in fabric development or sourcing preferred/liliDeep interest in fabric innovation, cost optimization, and material performance/liliHighly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills/liliEffective communicator with ability to manage priorities across teams and time zones/liliProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); PLM experience a plus/li/ulpbr//ppstrongHybrid Work Schedule/strong/ppem4 days a week in the office, 1 day work from home/em/ppbr//ppstrongNew York Pay Rate $25.00 - $32.50 per hour/strong/ppemWe strive to hire and nurture amazing talent.
