Each afternoon brings opportunities to build connections, lead by example, and have a little fun along the way./pp/ppbQualifications:/b/pullipCurrent HS AED Certification required./p/lilipMinimum one (1) year experience working with children and youth preferred./p/lilipExcellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently./p/lilipCommitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed./p/lilipExcellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences./p/lilipExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy./p/lilipPossess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed./p/li/ulp/ppbJob Specific Duties:/b/pullipAssists in preparing an implementing activities to include, but may not be limited to; art projects, fitness fun, sports skills and a variety of cooperative games. /p/lilipResponsible for the daily checking in / out of each child in addition to overseeing their participation in the program./p/lilipAssists with implementation and monitoring of activities and programs for participants./p/lilipDevelops new games and activities to be considered into daily lesson plans./p/lilipMonitors activity sessions as assigned, follows lesson plans, and makes adjustments as applicable to assigned area./p/lilipRecognizes when adjustments are required and creatively adapts activities to maintain participant’s enthusiasm./p/lilipInteracts with children during activities. Participates in games as required, and as opportunity arises./p/lilipWorks closely with leadership and staff to ensure the safety of all children participating./p/lilipTreats participants with honesty and respect while maintaining established standards for control. Shows no partiality or favoritism toward any one or group of participants. /p/lilipInteracts professionally with participants by utilizing children’s names and instills confidence regarding their ability to participate./p/lilipKeeps accurate count of program participants, activity, success/failure, discipline challenges, special participant needs, etc./p/lilipCreates an environment to grow holistically (socially, emotionally, physically, and environmentally)./p/lilipThe above essential functions are representative of major duties of positions in this job classification. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program.
