You will perform a wide variety of molecular and synthetic biology techniques including PCR, plasmid cloning, ordering DNA, sequencing plasmids, performing mammalian cell culture, generating and purifying viral vectors, maintaining HEK and Jurkat cell lines, and performing flow cytometry. Specific research projects include the development of novel viral vector and synthetic vector systems, including those with improved payload size, cell-type specificity, manufacturing simplicity, or an improved capacity for precision genome editing.
