The General Manager (GM) drives front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) operations at Jewel Hospitality LLCs Tropical Smoothie Caf locations. The GM balances managerial leadership with occasional BOH support (e.g., cooking, prep), ensuring excellent guest experiences, team safety, and product quality. Key duties include hiring, training, and coaching the team to exceed sales targets, maximize profitability, and uphold brand standards, with a focus on driving year-over-year growth and capitalizing on seasonal opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operates with an ownership mindset, overseeing all caf functions and stepping into any role as needed.
  • Masters all caf positions and completes Cafe Basics, Certified Trainer, and Crew Leader Training Programs.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and disciplines team members to maintain optimal staffing levels and performance.
  • Manages daily operationsprepping food, crafting smoothies, serving guests, and enforcing cleaning protocolsto deliver fast, high-quality service.
  • Drives sales growth through local marketing, catering initiatives, and promotional campaigns, targeting consistent year-over-year increases.
  • Controls costs "COGS" and monitors profit against budgets to maximize returns, aligning with quarterly bonus goals.
  • Ensures compliance with Tropical Smoothie Caf brand standards, including safety, security, and food handling policies.
  • Maintains equipment and manages inventory par levels to support seamless operations.
  • Coaches Assistant Managers and staff to uphold hospitality, quality, and speed of service standards.
  • Performs additional tasks as needed to achieve caf success.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum 5 years of food service experience (preferably fast casual or franchise) or a hospitality degree.
  • Minimum 1 year Manager level experience.
  • Proven skills in team leadership, sales growth, cost control (e.g., COGS, inventory), and guest satisfaction.
  • Experience with P&L management, marketing execution, and brand compliance strongly preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Expect 4555 hours/week, including weekends and peak seasons, with flexibility for operational needs.
  • Requires prolonged standing, lifting up to 25 lbs, and thriving in a fast-paced setting.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Competitive salary , with room for negotiation based on experience and performance first time GM starting at $40,000.00 annually.
  • Quarterly performance bonuses up to $2,000 (potential $8,000/year) plus additional incentives.
  • Paid vacation: 5 days annually for years 13, increasing to 10 days after 3 years of service.
  • Medical insurance: 50% of premium covered by Jewel Hospitality LLC.
