Reporting to the school dean or associate dean, this position's central focus is supporting the work of department chairs as assigned by the dean. The Administrative Assistant II works in an exciting, fast-paced, and challenging environment that often involves multitasking and managing a variety of projects and requests.
The Administrative Assistant II frequently handles sensitive and/or highly confidential material and is a vital member of the team responding to internal and external demands.

Prepares and submits schedule of courses each semester

Schedules departmental meetings

Takes minutes in departmental meetings

Makes room reservations and provides support for SHS events

Coordinates facility use and assists with space management

Processes course related changes for students (e.g., course overrides, waitlist, instructor approval for classes, learning community course changes)

Prepares updates and reports highlighting faculty accomplishments and publications

Performs other duties as assigned
- High School or GED
- One or more years of experience in an administrative support capacity
- 2 Year / Associate Degree
- One or more years of experience supporting multiple people or departments
- Higher education experience

Ability to learn various applications, college computing systems, and software
Ability to perform accurate work with an attention to details
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as determined by the situation
Ability to compose, punctuate, and proofread and summarize materials
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to respond to various audiences accurately and calmly and make decisions under pressure without immediate supervision
