Service Writer / Advisor / Counter Person

VanPool's Auto Care - Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Writer / Advisor / Counter Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between customers and our service department, ensuring that all service needs are accurately documented and communicated. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive services, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Pay is based on experience!

Duties:

• Greet customers and assess their vehicle service needs.
• Document customer concerns and service requests accurately.
• Provide detailed estimates for repairs and maintenance services.
• Coordinate with mechanics to ensure timely completion of services.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
• Follow up with customers regarding their vehicle status and satisfaction with services rendered.
• Stay updated on automotive technology and service techniques to provide informed recommendations.
• Assist in managing inventory of parts and supplies necessary for vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in service writing or a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, including but not limited to oil changes, brake repair, engine repair, and automotive diagnostics.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency in service writing software or auto service management systems is a plus.
• A background in mechanics or vehicle repair is advantageous but not mandatory.
• A current and valid state driver's license.
• One year experience required.
