Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and licensed Boilermaker / Stationary Steam Engineer to operate, maintain, and perform repairs on critical powerhouse equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of high-pressure steam systems and experience working in an industrial or institutional setting.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and Monitor Equipment:
Operate and observe powerhouse systems, including boilers, turbines, blowers, feedwater heaters, flow meters, pumps, air compressors, fan motors, generators, and pollution control equipment.System Inspections and Rounds:
Conduct regular rounds of the powerhouse; read gauges and regulators; monitor power consumption meters and switches; start, synchronize, switch, and stop generators or turbines as necessary.Repairs and Maintenance:
Perform steam fitting and plumbing tasks associated with boiler maintenance. Assist in major equipment repairs and prepare equipment for regulatory inspections.Log Keeping and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and detailed logs, including readings from gauges, power output levels, maintenance activity, and equipment status.Cleaning and Upkeep:
Ensure cleanliness of the powerhouse and related equipment to maintain operational and safety standards.Other Duties:
Perform additional duties as assigned to support safe and efficient powerhouse operations.
Qualifications
Valid Ohio license: High Pressure Boiler Operator or 3rd/2nd/1st Class Stationary Steam Engineer.
Proven experience operating and maintaining industrial powerhouse equipment.
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret gauges, schematics, and technical manuals.
Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
