JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates in-person and online library services that enhance student academic success
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plans and manages the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the University Library
Oversees library collection development, resource sharing and technical services areas, as well as special collections
Engages actively with students, faculty, and staff in the utilization of print and digital learning materials
Collaborates with the Academic Success Center, regarding shared services for student success (Examples include but not limited to: Test proctoring, scheduling, front desk support, TrackCloud management)
Manages and evaluates all library subscriptions and online database agreements
Manages circulation desk functions, including interlibrary loans
Orders and catalogs materials in a manner which conforms to conventional standards for academic libraries
Oversees the multiple technology/software systems that provide information and allow for accurate retrieval and availability of materials
Maintains accurate records and provide statistics and reports to federal, state, and local library agencies and the general interested public
Prepares a budget based on the needs of the total library in collaboration with the academic departments
Maintains physical upkeep and condition of the library facility
Promotes and integrates the Franciscan values of community, learning, reverence, and service
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stays current with higher education best practices
Supervises work study students
Schedules and provides library instruction to classes when requested by faculty members or on an individual basis
Performs other duties as may be required to enhance student success
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Professional experience; budgetary experience; familiarity with library systems; high level of technological proficiency.
- Knowledge of OPAL, OhioLINK and OCLC services or comparable systems is desirable.
