Job Description
Established Electrical Contractor, with an excellent reputation in the electrical contracting community since 1996, is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator. We are a W/MBE and DBE certified electrical contracting corporation experienced in commercial, industrial, residential and government work. This position would be perfect for the candidate that is committed to growth and thrives on the challenges of winning bids and pursuing excellence not only for the company but for themselves.
We’re hiring a Junior Electrical Estimator who is new to the industry but eager to learn. This entry-level role is perfect for someone who wants to grow into the estimating side of electrical construction. You’ll work closely with senior estimators and project managers to support takeoffs, proposals, and bid submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing plans and specifications to prepare quantity takeoffs for materials and labor
- Learn how to prepare and organize bid packages under supervision
- Help track and request vendor/supplier quotes
- Support estimating team in gathering information from the field, job walks, and site visits
- Input data into estimating software and spreadsheets
- Attend training and shadow senior estimators and project managers
- Participate in bid review meetings and learn the lifecycle of a project bid
- Stay organized and meet deadlines with attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree: Engineering is a plus
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems is preferred but not required
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software (Excel, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Reliable, curious, and motivated to grow within the trade
Compensation
- $16-$23 per hour
