Medical Assistant – Winston Center (Full-Time, Weekdays Only | Hybrid or In-Office | Spokane, WA)
Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented individual with a passion for mental health and helping others thrive? Winston Center is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our collaborative and supportive psychiatric care team.

Our team includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who work together to support families and individuals in achieving their potential.
About the Role:
In this essential role, you will be the connection point between our psychiatric providers, patients, and pharmacies. You'll help ensure that communication is smooth, timely, and compassionate-so that our providers can focus on delivering excellent care.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between providers, patients, and pharmacies
Manage communications via phone and patient portal
Assist with scheduling, medication refills, and patient document management
Prepare and submit medication prior authorizations and manage follow-ups
Coordinate medical records and ensure accurate documentation
Initiate and track lab orders as directed by providers
Support the clinical team in maintaining organized, responsive workflows
What We're Looking For:
Experience as a medical assistant or in a healthcare, psychology, or mental health setting
Excellent interpersonal skills with a warm, patient-centered approach
Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office 365
Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
Experience with insurance verification, pharmacy communication, and electronic medical records (EMR) is highly valued
Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks independently
Work Location & Schedule:
Flexible hybrid schedule: In-office and/or part-time remote options available
Office located in the University District of Spokane, WA, near Gonzaga University and the WSU Health Sciences campus
Full-time, four-day work week: Monday–Thursday, 7:45 AM–6:15 PM, with intermittent brief coverage on Fridays (~ 2hrs)
