Job Description
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Multi-Craft Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and repair of production equipment at our liquid dye manufacturing facility. This position requires hands-on expertise in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, working on machinery such as large mixers, bead mills, and liquid pumps. The right candidate will be resourceful, safety-focused, and ready to tackle the demands of a tough, gritty industrial environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
Replace components such as bearings, motors, seals, and gearboxes on heavy rotating machinery.
Maintain and troubleshoot liquid pumps, bead mills, mixers, conveyors, and other process equipment.
Conduct routine and corrective maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.
Work with PLCs, sensors, and VFDs to identify and fix automation problems.
Read and interpret mechanical schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
Follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space procedures, and hot work regulations.
Accurately document maintenance tasks, repairs, and part usage.
Support the installation and modification of new equipment.
Welding and basic metal fabrication skills (MIG, TIG, stick, torch) are a plus.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a multi-craft role (experience in chemical or liquid processing is a plus).
Strong experience with rotating/process equipment, including bearing and component replacement.
Foundational to intermediate knowledge of automation and controls.
Mechanically inclined with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
Creative thinker with strong troubleshooting abilities.
Must be comfortable working in a hot, dirty, and odorous environment.
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or an associate degree is preferred.
Welding/fabrication skills and safety compliance knowledge are highly valued.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Frequent exposure to strong chemical odors, high temperatures, and dirty or greasy surfaces.
Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical work such as climbing, kneeling, and navigating tight spaces.
Must comply with PPE requirements and maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety.
