Position Title: Network Operations Center Intern
Location: Los Angeles, CA
General Description:
China Telecom Americas is advancing transpacific enterprise connectivity through an end-to-end suite of custom-built IT/network solutions This Internship potentially could lead to full time employment. NOC Intern will assist the Network Operations Center 24/ 7 network monitoring for Telecom network (Transport and Data network) and support China Telecom Americas best in class troubleshooting. Major Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Shift Assistant Engineers when they are monitoring and maintaining Los Angeles POP facility including but not limited at HVAC, AC UPS, DC power plant and fire pre-action system.
- Assist Shift Engineers with their response for Transport network, IP network monitoring.
- Assist Shift Engineers as needed for action on network facility and alarms according to company procedure.
- Assist to open tickets to related carriers and track ticket status.
- Assist to process customer trouble ticket, carrier trouble ticket and escalate ticket according to escalation procedure.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Education Needed:
- Pursuing or completion of a aster’s degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred
- CCNA certification highly preferred
- Experience or strong ability to learn transport and IP networking is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of computer and telecommunication network.
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communications skills; verbally, written, face-to-face and over the phone in both English and Mandarin required.
- Ability to consistently deliver highest quality of work.
- Ability to work independently without heavy supervision and handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Availability to 40 hours a week, 8 hour shifts, five days a week.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Flexibility to work seamlessly with global sales team in different time zones.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with CTA teams and peers during every interaction and maintain rapport with people of diverse backgrounds and professional levels.
- Accomplished collaborator with a true bias for action.
