Mohs HistoTechnician

RESPONSIBILITIES - Histotech

• Produce high quality slides for Mohs surgeons.
• Mohs frozen section preparation - mapping, labeling, grossing, inking, embedding, sectioning, staining and cover slipping
• Permanent section preparation - grossing, labeling, processing, embedding in paraffin, sectioning, staining, cover slipping
• Proper organizing and storage of slides
• Routine maintenance and cleaning of histology equipment and materials
• Use automated equipment and instruments including microscopes, microtomes and other lab equipment.
• Examine slides under microscope to ensure tissue preparation meets laboratory requirements.
• Work independently and with team members as needed.
• Research and manage the use of safe chemicals and equipment throughout the Mohs lab.
• Research and train other staff members on biohazard and pharmaceutical waste
• Clean and sterilize instruments.
• Assist with surgical prep and exam room turnover
• Assist with pathology lab entries into pathology module
• Maintenance and documentation as required by CLIA
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field
• Prior experience with Mohs horizontal frozen sections and/or working with biopsy specimens in dermatology is ideal but not required

WORK SCHEDULE

• Full Time Hours
• Typically M-F hours
• Springfield and Branson offices
• Must Travel Between all offices

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Starting From $16.00per hour or $19.00 based on Experience
