Job Summary:
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Assistant Pre-K Teacher to support the learning and development of preschool-aged children in a nurturing and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Lead Teacher to implement structured lessons, guide social-emotional growth, and provide individualized attention to students. This role requires patience, creativity, and a passion for early childhood education. The Assistant Pre-K Teacher will help prepare learning materials, assist with classroom activities, and ensure a safe, supportive space where children can develop foundational skills for kindergarten readiness.
Duties
Job Duties:
- Assist the Lead Pre-K Teacher in implementing structured, developmentally appropriate lessons that support school readiness.
- Provide individualized attention to students, helping them develop early literacy, math, and social-emotional skills.
- Support classroom routines, including transitions between activities, meal times, and play sessions.
- Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and independence through engaging learning experiences.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment, following health and safety guidelines.
- Guide children in positive social interactions, reinforcing emotional regulation and cooperative play.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies to create a nurturing learning space.
- Communicate effectively with families, sharing updates on student progress and classroom activities.
- Prepare and organize learning materials to enhance student engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff to provide a cohesive and supportive educational experience.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Education Required: High school diploma
- Education Preferred: Associate’s or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Certification: CPR and First Aid certification required; additional childcare-related certifications are a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare or early education setting preferred.
Skills:
- Understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Ability to support structured routines, play-based learning, and social-emotional development.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with families and staff.
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies to create a positive and engaging environment.
- Patience, attentiveness, and enthusiasm for guiding young learners.
