Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Pre-K Teacher to create a stimulating, nurturing, and structured learning environment for preschool-aged children. The ideal candidate will implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, foster social-emotional growth, and guide children in foundational academic skills to prepare them for kindergarten. This role requires strong classroom management, creativity in lesson planning, and a commitment to individualized learning. The Lead Pre-K Teacher will collaborate with families, oversee classroom assistants, and maintain a safe, engaging space where children feel encouraged to explore, learn, and grow.
Duties
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement a structured, developmentally appropriate curriculum that prepares children for kindergarten.
- Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages creativity, exploration, and learning.
- Support social-emotional growth by helping children develop problem-solving skills, independence, and cooperation.
- Plan and facilitate activities that promote early literacy, math concepts, and cognitive development.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom space, following all health and safety guidelines.
- Assess and monitor children's progress, providing individualized support as needed.
- Communicate effectively with families, sharing updates on student learning and development.
- Supervise and mentor classroom assistants to ensure a well-structured and effective learning environment.
- Incorporate play-based learning, music, and hands-on experiences to enhance engagement.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and developmental levels.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Education Required: High school diploma
- Education Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Certification: CPR and First Aid certification required; additional early childhood education certifications preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working with preschool-age children in an educational or childcare setting.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Ability to implement engaging, structured learning activities that support academic and social growth.
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies to create a positive and organized learning environment.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with families and staff.
- Ability to assess and support individual learning needs and developmental progress.
