This includes primarily stainless steel equipment, hydraulic heat presses, and mechanical filtration equipment. Most recently, we’ve taken on more in-house manufacturing and automation initiatives.

Role Summary

The Director of Operations is the company’s highest level hands‑on integrator and is responsible for turning the CEO’s product vision into predictable, profitable output. You will lead Lowtemp’s manufacturing, supply chain, fulfillment, quality, customer service, as well as facilities, and serve as the company’s #1 operator.

Reports to: CEO / Founder

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Assembly

  • Lead supply chain team to success of no stockouts or overstocks of components.
  • Reduce and strive to eliminate customer back orders.
  • Deploy and enforce assembly, manufacturing, and quality control of equipment with all manufacturing teams.
  • Supply‑Chain & Sourcing
  • Consolidate supplier base, negotiate VMI/consignment, and secure dual‑sourced critical items (e.g., 17‑4PH machined platens, NEMA‑rated electronics).
  • MRP / Systems Ownership
  • Finish Cin7 BOM restructuring and automate demand signals into Core’s Advanced Manufacturing module.
  • Hire/manage in-house and contracted resources to lead us to success on software.

Quality & Compliance

  • Chair the CE technical‑file committee; oversee DFMEA/PFMEA and UL/ETL liaison.
  • Introduce layered process audits and final‑assembly run‑at‑rate sign‑offs.

Fulfillment & Customer Experience

  • Cut ship‑complete cycle time from order to dock.
  • Implement and enforce strong RMA procedures.
  • Lead customer support team towards analytical troubleshooting and document control.

People & Culture

  • Directly lead Warehouse Manager, Buyer Planner, and Fulfillment Lead (total org 20‑25 FTE). Direct and Indirect Reports: ~10 people.
  • Build a learning culture—quarterly Kaizen events, tuition reimbursement, and cross‑training ladder.

Qualifications

  • 8 + yrs progressive manufacturing/operations leadership; at least 3 yrs running a <250‑unit, high‑mix build‑to‑order line.
  • Demonstrated success taking a $5‑30 M hardware company through its first ERP/MRP rollout.
  • Deep Lean / Six Sigma toolkit (green belt +).
  • Hands‑on experience with CNC, SS welding (TIG or laser), or light automation preferred.
  • Regulatory familiarity (UL, CE, cGMP/EUGMP, or ISO 9001).
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Industrial Tech, Supply‑Chain, or equivalent; MBA/ME preferred but not required.

Leadership Traits We Value

  • Builder‑mindset: rolls up sleeves on the shop floor, then pivots to board‑level metrics.
  • Data‑driven fixer: instinctively hunts waste and validates improvements with numbers.
  • Servant‑leader: coaches operators, welders, and buyers with humility; sets a high bar without ego.

Work Environment

  • ~16 k ft² production facility in Arvada with in-house assembly, QC, and fulfillment.
  • Satellite weld shop management out of Wichita, Kansas. Non-regular on-site visits required. Less than 5% of time on site.
  • Standard shift 8a-4 pm; flexibility for off‑shift Gemba walks & supplier visits.
