2nd shift Steel Shot Blaster

JOB SUMMARY:

This role requires an individual who is genuinely dedicated to working safely, producing work product at the required quality, proactively maintaining the assigned equipment and actively working together with others. 

Under the direction of the Metalizing Supervisor, this position is responsible for: working safely, producing the correct product, proactively maintaining their equipment and working together.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Committed to abiding by company safety practices and policies. 

* Operate the assigned equipment in a safe manner to complete the operation to meet the quality requirements.

* Perform preventive maintenance items as detailed on the checklist and described during training.

* Take ownership of assigned equipment.

* Stage parts and weldments for blasting.

* Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from surfaces.

* Set up and operate a blast equipment.

* Prepare and set up all necessary tools and equipment for blasting.

* Report any and all production issues and assist the blast supervisor in resolution of these issues.

* Participate in all meetings as required.

* Perform other duties and tasks as requested by the Metalizing supervisor.

Knowledge and Abilities:

* Ability to work safely.

* Ability to follow direction from supervisor.

* Ability to read and write.

* Ability to communicate with other employees.

* Ability to fill out all required reports and paper work.

* Ability to work with minimal day-to-day guidance and be self-motivated to achieve the position responsibilities.

Experience and education:

* Ideal candidate will possess 1 years’ experience working with abrasive blast equipment.

* Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, particularly with abrasive blasting techniques

* Previous sandblasting experience or training

* Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus

* Physical stamina

* Flexible schedule

* Familiarity with mechanical tools

* Diagnostic skills
