Construction Estimator

Job Summary:
We're looking for a reliable and detail-driven Construction Estimator to join our team in person. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of field knowledge and office skills to accurately estimate material, labor, and time requirements for a variety of construction and metal fabrication projects.

Responsibilities:

• Review architectural drawings, structural plans, and fabrication details to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Work closely with the owner, project manager, and fabrication team to understand project scope and requirements.
• Perform site visits as needed to gather project data and assess conditions.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit detailed proposals and bid packages.
• Track material costs and maintain updated pricing databases.
• Assist in value engineering, budgeting, and change order pricing

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in construction and/or metal fabrication.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding, structural steel, and general contracting practices.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with estimating or takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).
• Comfortable working independently and in a small team environment.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites as needed.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a small business or hands-on trade environment.
• Familiarity with custom metalwork or steel fabrication.
• Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 hrs per week
