Seasonal Truck Driver - Full-time / Part-time

Job Summary: brThe primary responsibility of R.D Offutt Farms Seasonal Truck Drivers is to haul product from designated farm bins to the customer. All drivers are required to hold a valid driver’s license. Daily timekeeping logs, potato load logs, pre- and post-trip inspections, and scale weight tickets are also the driver’s responsibility. Drivers are responsible for loading and unloading trucks, including operating a remote control for loading. br brJob Duties: br• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order br• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to management br• Collect delivery instructions from the trucking office and field supervisors, verifying instructions and routes br• Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons to transport and deliver product br• Check conditions of truck box after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage br• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs br• Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate br• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned br• Secure cargo for transport, using tarps br• Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary br• Communicate effectively with management and other team members br• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook br• Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of R.D. Offutt Farms br• Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set br• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service br• Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner brJob Requirements: br• Must have reliable transportation to and from work br• Ability to meet physical requirements of the positions with or without accommodation br• Climbing in to and exiting trucks multiple times throughout the day br• Climbing stairs multiple times a day br• Willingness to work outside br• Walk on uneven ground at the farm locations br• Must be able to work overtime during harvest season or as the need arises br• Experience with farm or heavy equipment operation preferred br• Strong communication skills br• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment br• Excellent observation, analysis and organization abilities br• Previous truck driving experience preferred br• Valid driver’s license required br• Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
