Assist management in achieving sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety./ph3Responsibilities/h3divul liCreate an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.nbsp;/li liGain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.nbsp;/li liOffer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.nbsp;/li liInform customers of cheese specials.nbsp;/li liTrain and coach associates within the department to effectively perform their job duties at a satisfactory or above level.nbsp;/li liProvide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.nbsp;/li liMeasure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe, using variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.nbsp;/li liAdequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise.nbsp;/li liCheck product quality to ensure freshness. Review “sell by” dates and take appropriate action.nbsp;/li liLabel, stock and inventory department merchandise.nbsp;/li liReport product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.nbsp;/li liDisplay a positive attitude.nbsp;/li liUnderstand the store’s layout and be able to locate products when requested by customer.nbsp;/li liStay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.nbsp;/li liMaintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions note any discrepancies in inventory.nbsp;/li liAdhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.nbsp;/li liEnsure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.nbsp;/li liReinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.nbsp;/li liPractice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.nbsp;/li liNotify management of customer or employee accidents.nbsp;/li liReport all safety risk, or issues and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.nbsp;/li liMust be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation/li /ul/divh3Qualifications/h3divpMinimumnbsp;/p ul liCurrent food handlers permit once employed/li liEffective communication skills/li liKnowledge of basic math/li /ul pnbsp;/p pDesirednbsp;/p ul liHigh school diploma or equivalent/li liRetail experience/li liSecond language: speaking, reading and/or writing/li /ul/divh2Company/h2divdiv Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Smith’s Food and Drug merged with The Kroger Company in 1998.
