This position reports directly to the Licensed Child Care Director and the building principal.nbsp;/span/p pnbsp;/p pstrongPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:/strong/p ol li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Provides childcare services in before school and/or after school setting./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Develop positive relationships with children, parents, staff members, administration, and community members through effective written communication as well as verbal and nonverbal interactions/span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Plans and implements age-appropriate activities for students ages 3-12 years old both indoors and outdoors./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Supervise extended day assistants (caregivers) and provide feedback to the Licensed Child Care Director as needed.nbsp;/span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Responsible for collecting weekly payments and past due balances including completion of any necessary child care financial assistance program documentation/span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Assist Licensed Child Care Director in maintaining MiLEAP Child Carenbsp; Licensing regulations./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Participate in staff-development and professional development activities as offered (up to 16.0 clock hours per calendar year)./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Assists in maintaining a clean and safe facility / playground at all times/span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Maintain confidentiality with regard to student and family records and information./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Attend building-level and district-level meetings as requested./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Adhere to all TCAPS and MiLEAP Child Care Licensing guidelines and procedures./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Implement and enforce TCAPS District and building-level safety standards and behavior management techniques./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Administer childrenrsquo;s medication and First Aid as needed, and complete necessary State of Michigan and District-level documentation./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Other duties as assigned./span/li /ol pnbsp;/p pstrongKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:/strong/p ol li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"High school graduate (18+ years of age) with prior experience working/interacting with children./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Some Early Childhood or Child Development college coursework highly preferred./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Must have current first Aid and infant, child, an adult CPR training or be willing to obtain at next available offering/span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Willing to complete up to 16 clock hours of professional development training, in addition to new hire requirements as required by MiLEAP Child Care Licensing regulations.nbsp;/span/li /ol pnbsp;/p pstrongPhysical and Mental Requirements:/strong/p ol li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Must be able to report on a regular and consistent basis.nbsp;/span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Maintain consistent and punctual attendance./span/li li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Duties include frequent walking and physical activity, as well as use of hands and arms for signaling and light lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds.
